surcharge. All Subscription and Multi-Pack prices include a $14

Does the full HST apply to my opera tickets?
In the past, tickets to cultural events (like opera) were exempt from the PST; however the Ontario Ministry of Revenue has ruled that the full HST will apply to any cultural purchase going forward.
How does this affect my opera ticket purchases and exchanges?
If you bought a subscription on or before April 30, 2010, only the GST—currently included in our ticket prices—would have been charged. Subscription purchases after May 1, 2010 must include the entire HST.
While the HST does not come into full effect until July 1, 2010, packages involving future events must have been paid for by April 30, 2010 to save the HST. All individual opera ticket prices will carry the HST.
Recent clarification from the Ontario Government has dictated that after July 1, 2010, any exchange will result in HST being applied to the full price of the performance ticket. Even tickets exchanged for the same or lower cost are subject to HST.
For more information on ticket purchases and exchanges, please contact COC Ticket Services at 416-363-8231 or send us an e-mail.
Keep in mind subscribers are the COC’s best ambassadors! If you are
unable to attend, consider introducing a friend or a colleague to the
opera. If you are unable to use your tickets, return the tickets to us
at least one business day prior to the performance, and we will issue
the purchaser a charitable tax receipt for the face value of the
tickets.
In order for tax
receipts to be issued tickets must be returned to COC Ticket Services
in person at the Four Seasons Centre Box Office, by mail, or by fax
clearly showing the tickets voided and torn in half. We are unable to
issue a tax receipt on the day of a performance. All non-subscription
(including Multi-Pack) tickets are ineligible for tax receipts.
Exchanges
All
tickets are exchangeable for another performance of the same opera
(subject to availability) up to and no later than one full COC Ticket
Services business day before the original performance date.
How
Tickets may be exchanged through COC Ticket Services by phone or e-mail.
Tickets may also be exchanged in person at the Four Seasons Centre Box
Office. Voided tickets must be returned in order to obtain new tickets.
Cost
Lost tickets can be replaced free of charge by contacting COC Ticket Services.
If you forget your tickets on the day of the performance, don’t rush
home. We will be happy to replace your tickets free of charge at the
Four Seasons Centre Ticket Office, no later than one hour prior to
curtain.

Limited wheelchair seating is available at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. Contact COC Ticket Services
to arrange for seating. Wheelchair seating must be arranged at the time
of ticket purchase and cannot be accommodated on the day of the
performance.
The use of cameras, video cameras or sound-recording devices of any
kind is prohibited in R. Fraser Elliott Hall. These devices must be
checked at Patron Services located on the Lower Level before entering
the auditorium. Any person using an unauthorized recording device will
be required to surrender or erase any recordings, photographic or
digital images and may be asked to leave. No refunds will be issued.
All patrons, including children, must have a ticket for the
performance. Children 15 years of age or under must be accompanied by
and seated next to an adult. There is a limit of two young people’s
tickets per adult ticket. Children should be able to sit quietly
throughout the performance. If unable to do so, children and their
accompanying adult will be asked to leave the auditorium. Babes-in-arms
will not be admitted.
Wristwatch chimes, cellular phones, pagers and all other electronic
devices are extremely disruptive and must be turned off before the
performance. If a patron has an emergency and must be contacted during
a performance, he or she should contact Patron Services for assistance
before the performance.
Patrons are reminded that R. Fraser Elliott Hall is an extremely lively
auditorium and that all audience noise is accentuated and will be
audible to other patrons. Turn off all electronic devices, avoid
talking, coughing, humming, moving loose seats, kicking the backs of
seats, rustling programs, and unwrapping candies or cough drops. In
consideration of patrons with allergies avoid wearing perfumed beauty
products and fragrances. Please remain in your seat until the
performance has completely ended and the house lights have been turned
on.
In the interest of safety and for the comfort of all patrons and
performers, latecomers are not permitted to enter the auditorium or be
seated unless there is a suitable break in the performance (usually
intermission). Patrons leaving the auditorium during the performance or
returning late after intermission will not be readmitted. Latecomers
are invited to view the performance from monitors in the lobby area
including a large screen in the Richard Bradshaw Amphitheatre on Ring
3. To ensure a full and enjoyable evening at the opera, please check
your tickets for performance start times and plan to arrive early.
Please note that if there are events in the downtown core, parking can
be difficult to find. Check for special events that may cause road
closures, especially on weekends, and give yourself extra time to
arrive at the opera house. Due to the great costs of overtime, and the
inconvenience to other patrons, performances will start promptly at the
time printed on the ticket. It is the responsibility of the ticket
holder to arrive in sufficient time to be in their assigned seat by the
advertised starting time—please plan to arrive early.
The Four Seasons Centre is a smoke-free facility.
