Xevi Dorca


Spanish choreographer Xevi Dorca makes his COC debut with La Cenerentola. He completed studies in contemporary dance at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona. Subsequently, he was named best dancer and awarded a scholarship by the Madrid Choreographic Competition which led to a residency with Transitions Dance Company at the Laban Center, London. He has worked as a dancer with numerous companies including Sol Picó, Lindsay Kemp, Carlos Santos, Mar Gomez, Ballet Contemporani de Barcelona, Meekers Dance Company, Andrés Lima, Búbulus, Iliacan, Susan Kempster, Los Corderos, Montse Colomé and Anima’s Animal Art. Mr. Dorca has also co-managed the company Chicos Mambo as a choreographer and actor. As a choreographer, he has collaborated with Els Comediants. Recent choreographic work includes this production of La Cenerentola which premiered at Houston Grand Opera as well as Leonardo Balada’s contemporary opera, Faust-Bal and L’Italiana in Algeri, both at Teatro Real Madrid, all of which were directed by Joan Font (Els Comediants). Mr. Dorca also enjoys an active acting career on stage, in film and in commercials.
