Joan Anton Rechi
Born in the principality of Andorra, Joan Anton Rechi makes his COC debut as the associate director for La Cenerentola. He studied acting at the Theatre Institute of Barcelona and Ancient History at the University of Barcelona. He has worked as an actor in theatre and television and as an assistant director with Calixto Bieito, Robert Carsen, Herbert Wernicke, Danielle Abbado, and Joan Font (Els Comediants). Mr. Rechi began his independent directing career in 2003 with a theatrical adaptation of Orpheus in the Underworld in Barcelona. Other credits include productions of Il barbiere di Siviglia, Un ballo in maschera and Adriana Lecouvreur in Freiburg; L’elisir d’amore in Heidelberg; Pasión (a zarzuela gala) in Basel, Krol Roger (Szymanowski) in Mainz; Woyzeck (Waits/Brennan/Wilson), The Saint John Passion and Carmen in Oberhausen; and, Casta Diva in Barcelona and Madrid.
