Brett Polegato


Canadian baritone Brett Polegato returns to the COC as Dandini in La Cenerentola. He most recently appeared with the COC as Sharpless in Madama Butterfly. Other COC performances include the title roles in Don Giovanni and Eugene Onegin, Valentin in Faust and as part of the Inaugural Gala Concerts for the FSCPA*. Highlights of the 2010/2011 season include the title role in Wozzeck with Bolshoi Theatre, Count Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro with Opera Hamilton and Papageno with Cincinnati Opera. Recent appearances include the Count with Norwegian Opera, Lescaut in Massenet’s Manon with Opera Lyra Ottawa and Don Giovanni with Calgary Opera. Other credits include Oreste in Iphigénie en Tauride in Seattle, the Count with New York City Opera, Fritz in Die Tote Stadt at Grand Théâtre de Genève, and his Paris Opera debut as Pelléas – a role he has also performed with Opéra national du Rhin, Leipzig Opera and Munich Opera. He sang in a broadcast concert of Massenet arias and scenes with the COC Orchestra and soprano Erin Wall, and regularly appears in concert with major symphony orchestras in Cincinnati, Colorado, St. Louis and Toronto.
