Composed directly after his hugely successful Rigoletto, La Traviata, and Il Trovatore, Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera depicts a deeply human tale of forbidden passion between two very grown-up lovers. This stunning production sets Verdi’s abiding love triangle in the American south of the 1960s, with its undertones of Kennedy-era tensions and power plays.
On stage at the Four Seasons Centre, 145 Queen St. W., Toronto. Performance time is approximately three hours including two intermissions. Sung in Italian with English SURTITLES™.
