Adina Nitescu

Romanian soprano Adina Nitescu makes her COC debut in the role of Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly.

She was highly acclaimed last season for her interpretation of Cio-Cio-San at the Staatsoper Dresden, Moscow's Bolshoi Theater, Opéra National de Paris and Opera Colorado.

Other highlights included Nedda in Pagliacci with Teatro La Fenice, and the title role in Tosca for Opéra National de Paris.

Previous season engagements: Cio-Cio-San at the Staatsoper Berlin, La Scala Milano, and in Robert Wilson's famous production at the Nederlandse Opera; the title role in Manon Lescaut at the Vienna State Opera, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro dell’Opera Roma, and at the Deutsche Oper, Berlin; Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni at the Metropolitan Opera; Elisabetta in Maria Stuarda with Dallas Opera; Tosca with Naples Teatro San Carlo; and, Britten’s War Requiem in Parma.

Highlights of upcoming seasons include the title role in Adriana Lecouvreur in Florence and Andrea Chenier at the Geneva Opera.
