Thank you for your interested in volunteering with the COC. Some of the ways you can help include:
Office Volunteer: Assist with administrative projects including preparation of mailings, courtesy calling, filing, data entry and a variety of other related duties during weekday, business hours.
Archives Volunteer: Assist in a variety of duties including the cataloguing, organization and preservation of COC materials during weekday, business hours.
Free Concert Series Volunteer: The Free Concerts Series takes place every Tuesday and Thursday at noon, and on the first Wednesday evening of each month. Volunteers direct patrons to seats during arrival and egress, and provide general customer service.
Friends Lounge Volunteer: Check members' cards for entry; provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for opera-goers.
Opera Shop Volunteer: The Opera Shop is the resident gift shop at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. Volunteers assist in a variety of tasks including customer service, cashier, and re-stocking, displaying and pricing merchandise.
Education Programs Volunteer: Work with the education and outreach team to help facilitate a wide variety of programs for children and youth. If you would like to volunteer with summer camps, apply online here.
Special Event Volunteer: Assist with a variety of on-site and off-site educational programs and initiatives for all ages including Opera 101 and the Opera Exchange.
Four Seasons Centre Tour Guide: Lead school groups and members of the public on weekday, weekend and private tours of the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. Guides engage with the public, and initiate conversations about opera.
Joey and Toby Tanenbaum Opera Centre Tour Guide: Lead school groups and members of the public on tours of the administrative and creative spaces of the COC including the music library, COC archives, wigs, makeup and costume and props departments, and rehearsal spaces. Guides must be comfortable and/or have previous experience working with large groups of school age children.
Volunteer Speaker's Bureau: Present entertaining 20-minute lectures prior to each performance. The education and outreach team puts out a call for interested parties as required.
